Digital Literacy

Digital literacy is the ability to effectively and critically navigate, evaluate and create information using a range of digital technologies including, but not limited to, computers, tablets, smartphones, search engines and software. In support of the library's mission to "Enrich lives by promoting literacy and providing access to knowledge and culture", Red Deer Public Library is developing a Digital Literacy service to assist citizens in navigating the digital world. Over the coming months, library staff will be assessing the digital literacy needs of the community and then developing and offering a variety of programs to address those needs.

The Digital Literacy service is partially funded through the Government of Alberta's Community Spirit program donation grant to the community.
