Music Instrument Kits
UKULELE (available soon)
You can now borrow musical instruments from the Downtown Branch of the Red Deer Public Library for free with your Library card. Borrow a guitar or a soprano ukulele by placing a hold on the instrument and selecting Downtown Branch as your hold pickup location. The kit contains a musical instrument and an instructional book for beginners. Instruments must be returned to the Downtown Branch.
This program was made possible thanks to Guitarz for Kidz, a committee of the Red Deer Arts Council, making musical instruments available to this community. David Gilmore of Gilmore Guitars founded GuitarZ for KidZ Red Deer in order to get used instruments into the hands of the community. GuitarZ for KidZ is a committee of the Red Deer Arts Council.
If you have an instrument you'd like to donate please contact the committee at (403) 352-6111 or email email@example.com. Instruments that cannot be refurbished are being shared with visual artists who are designing and adapting these pieces to create Art Guitars for fundraising purposes.
