On Monday, June 24, all three of our locations will be closed for staff training so we can serve YOU - the members of our amazing community - even better! We will re-open Tuesday June 25.

Settlement Support in Libraries at the
Downtown and Dawe Branches, is a partner project between Red Deer Public Library, Immigration, Refugees and Ctitizenship Canada
and the Central Alberta Refugee Effort (C.A.R.E.)

Settlement Support helps newcomers with their settlement needs, connecting newly arrived families with services and resources in the community. 

Our program is offered at the Downtown and Dawe branches and provides support with:

  • Canadian culture

  • Language acquisition and improvement

  • Citizenship & Immigration

  • Employment, School & Volunteering

  • Housing & Transportation

  • Government programs and forms,

  • Taxes

  • Legal rights
