Waskasoo Kiwanis Meeting Room

The Waskasoo Kiwanis Meeting Room (Library Boardroom), on the Mezzanine Floor (Level 3) in the Armoury/Firehall section of the Downtown Library, is available for a fee to companies and community agencies. It was originally the Officers' Mess Room in the 1914 Armoury. The Friends of the Library provided funds to install a gas insert into the original fireplace. The room is made possible by a generous grant from the Waskasoo Kiwanis Club of Red Deer.

Cost

• $90 for a full day
• $45 for a morning, afternoon or evening

The room has a Board table and 18 chairs.

Audio-visual equipment is available for a fee: overhead projector for transparencies ($25); VCR and 31" television ($25).
The library will NOT provide computer equipment or LCD projectors.

Coffee and snacks and/or meals are available from Café Noir - call 403-342-9109.

The room is available from 8:00 a.m. in the morning. For meetings extending past closing time, a commissionaire is required, which costs an additional $30 per hour.  Please note that commissionaires are not always available for after-hours meetings.

• Full day 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. $90

• Portable TV/ VCR $25

  • Cords will be tattletaped.
  • Replacement cost of $25 per cord.

Additional costs

Security (Commissionaire) is required if the room is in use outside of regular hours: per hour, not pro-rated $30.

Please note that commissionaires are not always available for after-hours meetings.

Additional Restrictions:

The RDPL wireless network can be used by customers in the Waskasoo Kiwanis Meeting Room; however, no guarantees are made regarding the availability of the network. Customers are advised to have off-line backups of all presentations materials in the event of a network outage. 

The large screen TV in the Waskasoo Kiwanis Meeting Room is NOT available for public use. It is intended for library use only.
