The new Downtown Rotary Club Teen Space at Red Deer Public Library, called the mezz, opened on Groundhog Day, February 2, 2005.
How we designed the mezz:
In early 2004 we held focus groups of Red Deer teens, with RDPL staff and design/architecture consultants from Group2. We wanted significant input from teens in designing a space where teens would feel at ease. Key concepts that we gleaned from these meetings (in no special order):
dynamic - high-tech - modern - comfortable - flexible - welcoming - organic |
