Snell Auditorium
The Snell Auditorium, on the Lower Floor of the Centennial Library section of the Downtown Branch, is available for a fee to companies and community agencies. The room is named after the Snell Family: Charles Snell, longtime Library Trustee and his wife Mabel Besant, former Chief Librarian. The Snell family's generous donation made the Centennial Library a possibility.

The Snell Auditorium is a multi-use venue suitable for many different types of programs: recitals and small-ensemble concerts, readings, community meetings, business seminars, movies, theatrical performances, computer training sessions and children's programs. The Snell Auditorium is an important venue for children's, teen and adult library programming, and is also available for rent for community organizations and businesses.
Coffee and snacks and/or meals are available from Café Noir - call Jenny at 403-342-9109.
The room is available from 8:00 a.m. in the morning. For meetings extending past closing time, a commissionaire is required, which costs an additional $20 per hour. Please note that commissionaries are not always available for after-hours meetings. Customer must take down setup. Failure to do so will result in an additional $50 charge.
The Snell Auditorium has 140 chairs and 12 3'x6' tables.
August 22, 2006: We are currrently upgrading the Snell Auditorium's sound and lighting systems to create a more functional space for theatre, multi-media presentations, and audio/video recording. This is made possible by grants from the Alberta Public Library Electronic Network, Alberta Community Development's Library Services Grant, and the Friends of the Library. Room Rental and Equipment costs

Customer must take down setup. Failure to do so will result in an
additional $50 charge and room will not be rented to this group again.

P.A. System $25
- Customer must come in during working hours for instruction from I.T. staff on how to set up and use the system
Piano – per session: half day or evening $50
Extension cords: NC
- Cords will be tattletaped.
- Replacement cost of $25 per cord.
