Red Deer Public Library awarded CIBC Corporate Spirit Team award for most money raised in the CIBC Run for the Cure!

Staff members at the Red Deer Public Library showed their dedication to fighting breast cancer by raising more than $8000 during the CIBC Canadian Breast Cancer Run for the Cure on October 2.

“I am so pleased with the amount of support shown by all staff, management and Library Board members in helping us to achieve this incredible result,” said cancer survivor and staff member Mary Ann LeClair. Two other staff members who participated are also cancer survivors.

“Because several staff members and their families have been touched by this disease, we are dedicated to helping find a cure,” LeClair added.

The boutique sold pink items such as pens, bookmarks, blankets and bracelets with all monies raised going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

For their efforts, staff was awarded the Corporate Spirit Team Award for raising the most money in the corporate category in the Red Deer area.

Thanks to everyone who bought boutique items, raffle tickets and made donations in support of this worthy cause!
