Story
It has long been know that involvement in the
arts, through creation or enjoyment, can enhance quality of life.
Arts a la Carte works with existing arts, education, and community
and health organizations in Red Deer to deliver projects that
offer related tools and practices to those who do not normally
have access to the arts. Projects help fill in the gaps by expanding
on other agency programs, resulting in increased opportunities
for Red Deer residents to experience the arts. Among the programs
offered by Arts a la Carte is:
The
Caregiver Arts Break Program
The Barra
MacNeils, the Arrogant Worms, and Lord
of the Rings. These are just a few of the shows recently
made available free-of-charge to individual caregivers through
Red Deer's Caregiver Arts Break Program. Organized by Arts a la
Carte and run by the Golden Circle Senior Resource Centre, the
program recognizes the important work of family and friend caregivers,
who voluntarily make decisions and care for another adult . [more]

A fascinating web site about the American

art as defined for the purposes of the American Visionary
Art Museum refers to art produced by self-taught individuals,
usually without formal training, whose works arise from
an innate personal vision that revels foremost in the
creative act itself." In short, visionary art begins by
listening to the inner voices of the soul, and often may
not even be thought of as 'art' by its creator." |
