| Collage - Participants use images from magazines, calendars, newspapers, and so on to create an image of what wellness or peace or hope looks like.
Junk sculpture - Participants use every day household objects or natural objects found in nature to create interesting sculptures. The reflections might be on the wellness of the earth or their own personal wellness.
Tile making - Participants create tiles for themselves or as a group project that are installed somewhere central. The theme might be on a universal subject or the individuals might be encouraged to create a tile on any subject.
Photography - Participants take photographs on a theme and then perhaps put together a community exhibit. For example, they might be asked to take photographs of where they are on their life journey or of their hopes for the future.
Cartooning - Participants are taught the basics of cartooning and encouraged to create their own cartoon or a group cartoon on a theme related to wellness or health.
Mask making - Participants create funny, scary, and/or fascinating masks which they may then use to create an improvised performance.
Recycled clothing - Participants create fabric art and/or funky arty clothing using old clothing. they may be encouraged to create art using recycled items as a way of honouring the wellness of the environment and the earth.
Pottery - Participants visit a local pottery club to see how pottery is created, then make their own piece of pottery such as a hand built mask or bowl.
Mural - Participants create a mural together to decorate a public space. The theme might be predetermined (wellness and body image or some other health-oriented theme) or the participants themselves may be involved in deciding on a theme together. |
