Social action drama - Participants create performances that explore a social issue (such as peer pressure, smoking, drugs, etc.)
Instrument making - Participants create instruments from found objects. Shakers and rattles can be made with pebbles and cans, but other instruments may also be crated. They then use the instruments to create a spontaneous concert. Participants my be asked to reflect on how group music making can contribute to their sense of well-being.
Masks and puppets - Participants create performances with masks and/or puppets (provided or created as part of the program.)
Drumming - Participants come together in a drumming circle led by a instructor. They are encouraged to discuss how drumming relates to finding one's own beat or style within the larger community.
Creative movement - Participants use creative movement to explore their relationships with their bodies and/or each other.
Choral reading - Participants create a spoken "song" by reciting a poem or reading as a group. The reading could be something that relates to the concerns of that group.
