artsparks presents: The Return of the Movie Making Camp!

It's back, and this summer, we will be making TWO movies!

Week one:
Documentary
July 14-18
Waskasoo/Kiwanis Meeting Room

Week two:
Drama/Comedy (written by artsparker Tim Cormier)
July 21-25
Snell Auditorium
Register by July 11
All courses run from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Registration forms are available at the circulation desk. Everyone is welcome to attend this free program! Participants do not have to attend both weeks, but are encouraged to do so. There is no age limit, but we suggest ages 12 and up. Thirty to 45 minutes of stories, songs, finger plays, and crafts. The focus age group is three to six (under three please bring an adult), but we invite the whole family to take part.

Family storytimes run all year.

Children's Services - LOL: Laugh Out Loud TD Summer Reading Club Program

This program is a joint initiative between TD Bank Financial Group, Library and Archives Canada, and the Toronto Public Library. Giggle and laugh your way through the summer with crafts, games, stories, and prizes. The Club coniststs of at home reading with incentives and in-library programs for children ages 3 - 11. Registration begins Monday, June 23 at both the Downtown and Lion Plaza Branches. Call 346-4688 or 341-3822 for more information.

Clément Mathieu (Gérard Jugnot) is the new prefect (a supervisor of sorts who ranks just below the headmaster) at a boarding school for troubled children in need of discipline. On his first day on the job, Clément realizes he faces a formidable task. The children are rowdy, disrespectful, and show no regard for education or authority. At the risk of his job, he decides there must be a better way to reach and inspire the children. He finds that inspiration in his own passion, music. The Chorus is an award-winning, Oscar-nominated (Best Original Song, Best Foreign Language Film) Miramax-distributed French film.

Registration for the Teen Summer Reading Club (www.teensrc.ca) begins on June 16, 2008! The summer theme is "I Liked the Book Better!" which is all about books, movies, video games, manga, cinemanga, and all the ways you can tell the same story. You don't have to like the book better! During the summer you can read, collect mezzos that you can redeem for prizes, come to some awesome programs, and write reviews, chat and get booklists on the teen SRC site... don't miss out!
