The general public is invited to use the items in the Kerry Wood Nature Centre research collection. These items can be searched using the Red Deer Public Library's online catalogue. Please be aware that items in the Kerry Wood Nature Centre collection are reference items for use only
at the Nature Centre, and do not circulate.
Kerry Wood Nature Centre is open the following hours:
- 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily from Labour Day to the Victoria Day
weekends. - 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily from the Victoria Day weekend to Labour
Day. - open at 1:00 p.m. on statutory holidays.

Red Deer and District Museum Collection
The Red Deer and District Museum and Archives Research and Reference Library is a closed stack library. The general public can obtain access by appointment. Material does not circulate, but can be viewed at the Museum and Archives. Museum and Archives rules of handling apply. The Library contains reference books relating to the mandates and programs of the Museum and Archives, Alberta local history books, historic reference books, historical periodicals, period novels, retail catalogues, sheet music, and books by local authors.
The Red Deer and District Museum is open the following hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Friday 10:00am - 5:00pm
- Wednesday, Thursday 10:00am - 9:00pm
- Weekends and Holidays 1:00pm - 5:00pm
