Candidate for City Council
Biography
Born and raised in Red Deer (34 years)
Married with four kids, two teenage, two toddlers.
Graduate of Red Deer College (Business Administration Diploma)
Employment: Local business owner
Born, raised and living in Red Deer for over 30 years, I have watched
the city grow and change and blossom into a thriving community with
a warm small town atmosphere yet all the amenities of the big cities.
Red Deer is positioned now for economic growth and prosperity like never
before. Difficult decisions are coming and change is necessary. I embrace
that future but strive to preserve the core values that those of us
who call Red Deer home value most. With creativity, strategic decision
making and the use of Red Deer's demographic advantages we can make
Red Deer the best place to live in the World.
Red Deer is unique because of our location. Not only are we located
in the corridor between two of the top six largest cities in Canada,
we also service five times the population of our city from our outlying
areas. All of this while maintaining that small town edge that creates
a caring and friendly city. Red Deer is one of the best cities in the
world to live in (if not the best) with much credit being given to location.
The leadership thus far has done an excellent job however Red Deer will
continue to grow and face new and different challenges. To handle these
challenges our city needs a city council with the inspiration and fortitude
to take advantage of opportunities and propel Red Deer into the dynamic
and diverse city it is destined to become. There are good cities where
everything is done right, and there are awe-inspiring cities were everything
is done exeptionally well, as Red Deer can be.
