I served the Red Deer Catholic school district from 1961-1998 as a teacher, principal, curriculum coordinator, deputy superintendent and superintendent of schools. From 2001-the present I served as a trustee. Our children are proud graduates of the system, and now our grandchildren are following the tradition.

During my years in Red Deer, I have been an active community leader serving on various cultural, municipal, educational and charitable boards and committees. Now, in my retirement I continue to offer my service as a volunteer on/as: incoming chair of the Hospital Volunteer Association; Central Aberta Regional Director for the Alberta Council on Aging; and Co-chair for the Advisory Board Catholic Social Services. In addition to normal trustee duties, I have served as our division's director on the Alberta Catholic School Trustees Association  and as a  rep on the Zone 4 Alberta School Trustees Association and various committees involved with these groups.

I value children. School board policies, administrative rules and regulations must always reflect the model of Jesus Christ as we serve children first! Catholic education is a constitutional right as well as a precious gift to be treasured. Our schools must respond to the challenges facing faith-centered schools by proving they are viable and worthy alternatives to public education. The children we serve are the "products" of a pluralistic society.

As a trustee, I will continue to support the efforts of all staff and school councils in carrying out the division mission which fosters the committment of  hope, love and respect for all children, honoring their dignity as individuals and ensuring that all children receive the best learning experience possible.

If I am re-elected, I will continue to fulfil my trustee duties with dedication and vigor. My training and experience in finance, personnel, educational theory and practice as well as proven interpersonal skills should continue to serve me well as one of your trustees.
