CIBC Run for the CureLibrarians Run for the Cure

1 in 9 women get breast cancer

On October 2, 2005, more than 30 Red Deer Public Library staff and Board members and their family members will be participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure.  This is the largest single-day volunteer led fundraising event in Canada RDPL's Run for the Cure Teamdedicated to creating a future without breast cancer.  This cause is particularly important to us as some of our staff members and their families have been affected by breast cancer.  We are part of the national Librarians Run for the Cure team.  The majority of the monies we raise will remain in our community to meet the needs of people here affected by breast cancer.
