October 17-24, 2005 is Canadian Library Week
Celebrate Canadian Library Week - check out a print from our brand-new Art Lending Program, make cool hemp crafts in the mezz, hear author Sigmund Brouwer read from his work - do that and much more at Red Deer Public Library from the 17th to the 24th of October. For a complete list of programs during the week, check out our Library Events page.
Lifelong Libraries - Discover Us!
During Canadian Library Week, take up the challenge: the Great Alberta Reading Challenge. On October 19th or 20th, read for 15 minutes, then enter to win! Go to www.readingchallenge.ca for all the details.

On October 17th, we launched our new Art Lending Program. With your library card you can check out a beautiful print by a talented local artist. That's what Mayor Morris Flewwelling is doing in the picture to the right; he was first in line on Monday morning. The print being checked out is Bales #2 by Christopher Onyszchuk.
We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Cultural Capitals of Canada 2003 award, a program of the Department of Heritage.

We acknowledge the financial support of Culture Link through the Philanthropic Centre for Culture, and of the City of Red Deer
